BIG KOWGLI
A 21 year old rapper/producer, Kyle Chiblow aka Big Kowgli has been creating a buzz since 2001. He began in the rap duo, SWAD Squad along with Raw B Snatch and have completed various tracks in a basement studio. In 2003, Big Kowgli completed his first demo quality project titled Tha Smoke Signals which included 14 self produced tracks. Later that summer he started working with DJ Mixx Productions and MC Sage, where he made beats and co-produced MC Sage as well as completing 3 tracks for himself. He then personally distributed 500 copies of 10 track demo which went on from January to March of 2004. Traveling across Ontario, Big Kowgli then began recording his album at Extra Fine Records in Blind River. After the 5 month process his self produced album, along with work from Yves Rock and local singers, Knowledge & Respect was finished and ready to ship. 2005, Kowgli has used the internet to collaborate with artists and producers to expand his artwork. To begin 2006, Kowgli attended a casting call for the play Anna Mae's Movement, which is about Anna Mae Aquash and her contribution to AIM in the 70's. Filling up the venue everynight for the play and taking home 2 awards in the Quonta Festival, plan on see'in Kowgli acting skills com'in out.
Big Kowgli has been known to developed a unique sound in which he highlights the negativity on his life and experiences, when asked why he responded with, "Everyone be acting like this sh*t don't go down, but I see it everyday and will continue till it's cleaned". Along with the music, Big Kowgli is now attempting to start his own record label, NuRez Entertainment. The vision to create a unique sound in native hip hop and empower the aboriginal community.
